Established in August of 1999, Orient Power Xi’an GPS Electronics Limited (OPITS) is a hi-tech joint venture between Orient Power Holdings Limited and Xi’an Research Institute of Navigation Technology. It concentrates on the researching, manufacturing and trading of car GPS navigation system (and/or equipment) and all kinds of car electronics products, and will try to explore and lead the domestic and international GPS application industry.

Xi’an Research Institute f Navigation Technology is one of the main institute specializing in research of modern electronics technology application under the Ministry of Chinese Electronics Industry. Founded in 1961, it has been engaged in technical research, design and manufacture of large system projects in the fields of wireless navigation, radar, communication and computer applications. It is equipped with over 1500 engineers, over 6000 special instruments and equipment, 24 special research laboratories, and 10 workshops.
